Description
In Munich, the construction of the third HORIZONT house marks another milestone for homeless mothers and their children. On an inherited plot of land in the northwest of Munich, the HORIZONT – Jutta Speidel Foundation, together with partners, is planning 20 flexible apartments for up to 57 residents as well as an open youth and meeting space. The offering is complemented by an integrated house for health and therapy, which specifically provides trauma therapy, health promotion, and medical counseling. The holistic concept follows a trauma-sensitive, transcultural approach and links psychosocial support with educational and media-pedagogical measures. This creates not only temporary housing options but also perspectives for a self-determined life within a stable community environment.
Funding is provided as sponsorship and is aimed at private individuals, companies, and foundations committed in Bavaria to social issues, child and youth welfare, women's empowerment, health, education, housing construction & modernization, as well as vocational training & further education. Cooperation for construction and ongoing operations is possible from July 2024; applications and commitments of support can be submitted continuously. Through diverse partnerships, it is ensured that the project is sustainably supported in the long term and that the care of homeless families is reliably guaranteed. Dedicated sponsors thus make a decisive contribution to creating secure housing, psychosocial support, and future-oriented assistance for disadvantaged families.
