Description
School authorities in Bavaria have the opportunity each year to establish and financially support bound full-day programs at state, municipal, and independent schools. Funding is provided for additional teacher weekly hours as well as budget funds per full-day class to cover personnel and material expenses. The project aims to facilitate the compatibility of work and parenting for families while simultaneously establishing a pedagogically high-quality, full-day educational and care offering. With mandatory participation of students four days a week in a structured class format until 4 p.m., a structured framework is created that sustainably strengthens the triad of education, upbringing, and care.
Public institutions, interest groups, other associations, or foundations can submit applications by the annually specified deadline for the following school year to the responsible government authority or the State School Offices. Prerequisites include a pedagogical full-day concept, full-day school operation on at least four weekdays with 7.5 hours each, and organization under the supervision of the school administration. The funding period is 12 months; eligible for funding are, in addition to teacher weekly hours, budget funds per class (depending on the school type between €29,182 and €47,149 per school year). State schools additionally receive a class budget between €9,695 and €29,178, including a municipal co-financing allowance. The measure strengthens equal opportunities and individual support, opens up expanded learning and development spaces, and contributes to a future-oriented educational infrastructure in Bavaria.
