Description
The funding program "Encounters for Foster Children" of the Großes Waisenhaus Foundation in Potsdam supports public institutions and non-profit organizations in Brandenburg in the planning and implementation of multi-year exchange and encounter projects for children and adolescents in foster families. The goal is to develop and test innovative approaches to reflect the special life situation of foster children, disseminate best practice experiences, and strengthen social participation. Up to 3,000 euros per project (100% funding rate) are available; funding can be applied for as full financing. The maximum project duration is 36 months; eligible expenses include personnel and material costs as well as travel expenses, while investment costs are excluded.
Projects in the thematic areas of children and youth, social affairs, as well as work & social affairs, which are implemented in close cooperation with youth welfare offices or independent non-profit organizations commissioned by a foster care service, are supported. Evaluation criteria include alignment with the foundation’s purpose, level of innovation, and involvement of the target group. Applications can be submitted throughout the year but should be received at least three months before the project start. Required documents include the articles of association or statute, tax exemption certificate, extract from the register of associations, and, in case of extensive cost planning, a cost and financing plan. Professional support by the experts of the Brandenburg Ministry of Youth and the regional foster care services ensures sustainable project quality and tailored implementation of the initiatives.
