Description
The funding program "Subsidies from the State of Carinthia for the Development and Maintenance of the Rural Road Network (K-LFF 2023)" is aimed at private and legal persons, companies, as well as municipalities that intend to newly construct, modify, repair, or permanently maintain rural roads and paths in the state of Carinthia. With a funding rate of 100%, structural development and maintenance measures are supported, including activities such as profiling of settlements, road surface repairs, slope restorations, renewal of drainage systems, or the new construction and modification of farm access roads and agricultural paths. The program funds both public connecting roads and private traffic areas with public character according to the Carinthian Road Act, whereby municipal roads and access roads to secondary residences are excluded. Applications can be submitted indefinitely since July 15, 2023; the funding commitment is granted as a subsidy upon submission of a complete funding application and an associated declaration of commitment.
To be eligible for application, planning and construction measures must comply with the state of the art (guidelines of the ÖFGSV) and take into account the protection of nature, landscape, and water management. Road widths over 3.50 m are only funded if a traffic-related necessity is proven. Permanent maintenance must be ensured through a declaration of commitment. Eligible expenses include new construction, modification, and structural maintenance measures, but not operational maintenance work such as winter service. For the application, a signed declaration of commitment must be submitted alongside the funding application. Processing is carried out by Department 10 – Agriculture and Forestry, Rural Areas in the Office of the Carinthian State Government, which also monitors the proper use of funds. This initiative sustainably supports the preservation and expansion of transport infrastructure in the rural areas of Carinthia.
