Description
In Carinthia, a continuously available grant opportunity is provided that covers 75% of the disposal costs for animal carcasses weighing 80 kg or more, as well as veterinary police TSE tests on cattle. This measure aims to compensate the financial expenses for fallen animals and animal by-products and to enhance safety in agriculture through targeted examinations following the BSE crisis. Applicants benefit from reduced disposal fees as soon as the completed services are directly invoiced by Tierkörperentsorgung-GmbH (TKE) to the State of Carinthia. In addition to conventional slaughter waste, transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE) tests are also subsidized to effectively prevent potential health risks.
Eligible for funding are private individuals and companies subject to the delivery obligation under the Animal Materials Act who can provide a valid contract with TKE and the State of Carinthia. Eligible expenses include the collection and environmentally sound disposal of animal carcasses as well as veterinary police examinations on cattle. The legal basis is derived from Regulation (EC) 1069/2009 and the Community framework for state aid in the area of TSE tests, fallen animals, and slaughter waste. With this aid, the State of Carinthia makes a sustainable contribution to relieving agricultural enterprises while simultaneously ensuring the proper disposal of animal by-products.
