Description

The funding program "Contributions for the Rehabilitation of Landslides" supports agricultural enterprises in Salzburg in minimizing hazards caused by landslides through targeted drainage measures. The objective is, on the one hand, to protect objects and persons, and on the other hand, to preserve the cultivability of agricultural land as well as valuable, landscape-defining cultural areas. Designed as a subsidy, applications can be submitted continuously. Projects are funded that provide suitable technical evidence due to landslide-related hazards and are characterized by measurable improvements in soil water balance. The measure is guided by the principles of environmental and nature conservation, infrastructure, and energy efficiency, as well as the requirements of the Climate and Soil Protection Act.

Eligible participants are entrepreneurs and private individuals with agricultural operations who can demonstrably be affected by landslides and endangered by structural elements in land management. Prerequisites include, among others, documented endangerment of objects, protection of persons, and preservation of culturally significant areas. To submit an application, a fully completed application form must be submitted to Department 7/02 Water Protection Management, along with – depending on requirements – a geological, nature conservation, and water law assessment. The funding is disbursed after the successful commissioning of the drainage system; pre-financing is carried out by the applicants. Professional and computational reviews as well as on-site inspections ensure the appropriate implementation. These continuously available subsidies make an important contribution to risk minimization and the sustainable use of agricultural land on slopes.
