Description
Since January 1, 2011, the state of Vorarlberg has been offering unlimited subsidies within the framework of Contributions for Forest Management Planning for the planning of forest management plans in the Vorarlberg region. With a focus on sustainable use, the program supports measures in the areas of agriculture & rural development, environmental/nature conservation, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection. Targeted recipients are private individuals, cooperatives, interest groups, and public institutions, particularly private forest owners, agricultural communities, forest owners’ associations, and municipalities. By supporting the conception, assessment, and documentation of silvicultural and economic interventions, forestry enterprises gain reliable planning bases in terms of ecological, economic, and social sustainability. The subsidy is granted proportionally to the incurred planning costs and can be applied for at any time during the unlimited funding phase.
Applications can be submitted at any time using the forms available from forest wardens and district forestry inspectorates. Eligible expenses include all costs for the preparation of forest management plans, provided that the most recently funded plan is older than ten years and the applicants belong to the circle of eligible beneficiaries. Plans, a detailed project description, area and cost statements, original invoices, proof of payment, as well as detailed timesheets must be submitted. The responsible state authorities review the documents through a professional plausibility check, a written verification of supporting documents, and, if necessary, an on-site spot check. This structured review and processing strategy ensures transparent and efficient allocation of funds in the service of a long-term sustainable forestry.
