Contribution to the operation of the Private Medical University of Salzburg (PMU) - Private Foundation

The funding measure “Contribution to the operation of the Private Medical University of Salzburg (PMU) – Private Foundation” supports the PMU as a university institution for education, advanced training, and research in the field of medicine in the state of Salzburg. As a direct grant in the areas of research & innovation, science, as well as education & training, the funding contributes to securing and further developing medical degree programs, scientific projects, and advanced training offerings. Applications can be submitted continuously since 01.01.2013, enabling flexible planning and financing of university operations. Eligible for funding is exclusively the Private Medical University of Salzburg in its capacity as a private foundation. The “General Guidelines for the Granting of Funding by the State of Salzburg” apply as the legal basis for the allocation of funds.

A comprehensive package of documents must be submitted for the application: proof of legal status, authorization to represent, as well as a current budget estimate and financial statement; a detailed financing plan with a cost breakdown, own contributions, and other subsidies; a declaration permitting inspection of accounting documents and the publication of name, address, purpose of use, and funding amount in accordance with data protection law. The funding process is managed by Department 1: Economy, Tourism and Municipalities, Division 1/02 Economic, Scientific and Research Funding of the State of Salzburg. The measure targets all university activities of the PMU and requires a clearly defined, measurable funding purpose that would not be feasible without public funds. Thus, this continuous source of financing makes an important contribution to strengthening medical teaching and research in Salzburg.
