Description
The Berlin Masters Schliemann Residency is a prestigious award that annually offers talented artists from the fields of photography, video, and new media a six-week working residency in St Rémy de Provence. The focus is on artistic development in an inspiring environment: a fully equipped studio as well as comfortable accommodation provide optimal conditions for creative processes. The grant also covers travel expenses, a rental car on site, and a per diem for the entire duration of 42 days. Participants also receive a season pass for the renowned Rencontres d’Arles and LUMA Arles, creating valuable opportunities for international exchange and networking with experts.
The scholarship is aimed at artists living in Berlin who can demonstrate their artistic practice in photography, video, or new media. A primary residence in Berlin is a prerequisite. The residency takes place annually in July and August, parallel to the Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles, and in addition to artistic support, offers access to exclusive seminars, lectures, and a vernissage luncheon during the opening week. The award is sponsored by the ARNDT Foundation in cooperation with the Berlin Masters Foundation, which promotes the international mobility and visibility of emerging artists through this program.
