Description
The program "Occupational Information and Continuing Education Measures in Agriculture" supports non-profit organizations, companies, cooperatives, as well as public and educational institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia in conducting informational events (1–1.5 days) and courses (2–15 days) in the agricultural and horticultural sectors. The goal is a comprehensive offering that aligns agricultural and horticultural knowledge with current developments and expands skills—such as in farm management, income diversification, marketing strategies, or ecological production methods. Approved measure providers may offer in-person, online, or hybrid formats and receive a subsidy of 60% to 80% of eligible expenses. Funding covers room rental, seminar technology, speaker fees, childcare, teaching and learning materials, personnel, and course fees; expenses for legally regulated agricultural vocational training are excluded. The funding rate varies depending on the event duration, and the project duration is up to six months. A minimum participant number of seven persons, attendance verification of over 50%, as well as residence or employment/training relationship in NRW are prerequisites. The grant is awarded upon submission of documents regarding approval, cost calculation, qualification certificates, and the de minimis declaration.
Interested measure providers submit their applications continuously before the start of the measure; for the year 2025, the deadlines are April 30, June 2, August 6, and October 13. The application is reviewed by the Chamber of Agriculture of North Rhine-Westphalia as the EU paying agency. Selection criteria ensure an even distribution of funds across the funding area. The target group of the measures includes persons working or advising in agricultural enterprises, members of professionally relevant associations, active participants in nature and environmental protection organizations, as well as unemployed specialists with agricultural training. By combining technical knowledge, methodological competence, and flexible event formats, the program makes an important contribution to strengthening sustainable agriculture and rural development in North Rhine-Westphalia.
