Description
The program "Career Orientation Measures at Secondary Schools" of the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture supports, from the 7th grade onwards, intensive preparation for the transition from school to vocational training or university at public and state-recognized secondary schools in Bavaria. Within the framework of extended in-depth career orientation, participants gain practical insights into various professional fields, workshops, and company internships. The goal is to strengthen career and decision-making competencies, reduce unfilled applicant quotas, and prevent training and study dropouts due to insufficient career awareness. Professional coordination with schools, career counseling, and external providers ensures a tailored needs analysis that also takes into account the special needs of students with special educational support requirements or disabilities.
Up to 50% of eligible expenses are funded, including the implementation and supervision of the measure as well as proportional coordination tasks (maximum 10% of total costs). Catering and travel expenses of the participants are not eligible for funding. Co-financing is provided jointly with the Employment Agency, which covers at least half of the total costs. Applicant institutions – public bodies, non-profit organizations, associations, foundations, or interest groups – submit a completed "evBo" application, a coherent project concept with objectives, schedule, methods, and budget plan, as well as confirmation from the school management to the responsible State School Authority. A decision from the Employment Agency and the invoice from the measure provider must be attached. Funding applications can be submitted at any time to the respective State School Authority. This funding makes an important contribution to purposefully supporting young people in their career orientation and sustainably promoting their professional success.
