Description

The funding program “Vocational Preparation – Social Psychiatry” in Tyrol is aimed at adults with mental illnesses and significant impairments in their psychosocial abilities. As a day-structuring service, it offers individually tailored work and vocational training in training enterprises, psychosocial competence training, as well as application training and workplace aftercare. The goal is to strengthen work capacity, maintain or improve quality of life, and ensure sustainable participation in the labor market. Financing is usually provided jointly by the Public Employment Service (AMS) and the Pension Insurance Institution (PVA); if the PVA rejects, the State of Tyrol assumes the share. The service is provided on an outpatient and mobile basis, generally lasts 12 months, and may be extended up to 18 months in justified cases. Training and opening hours are oriented to the regional labor market and practical operational requirements.

Applications can be submitted at any time via the application form according to § 11 para. 1 and 2 lit. e of the Tyrolean Participation Act. Eligible for funding are private individuals with Austrian citizenship (or equivalence), main residence in Tyrol, and the presence of a disability according to § 3 lit. a TTHG. A prerequisite is the prospect of strengthening social participation and cooperation during application and implementation. In addition to vocational qualification, empowerment, self-help assistance, and interaction on an equal footing are central principles. Interested parties can obtain documents and further information from the Department of Inclusion and Child and Youth Welfare of the State of Tyrol. The funding is granted in the form of a subsidy and is valid indefinitely.
