Pollination Premium

The pollination premium of the City of Villach recognizes the indispensable commitment of beekeepers and makes an active contribution to the preservation of Carinthia’s diverse cultural landscape. Through a one-time subsidy of €10 per beehive, the measure promotes comprehensive pollination of insect-pollinated plants within the municipal area. This not only secures the food sources for wild and honey bees but also strengthens natural biodiversity as well as the quality of agricultural products. Interested companies can submit the online application at any time and without complications, ensuring quick access to funding and continuous support for regional environmental and agricultural promotion.

Eligible for funding are all beekeepers with bee colonies in the City of Villach who can prove the operation of beekeeping within the municipal area. The requested premium is granted as a direct grant without time limitation and is subject to simple proof requirements. The initiator of the funding is the Department of Plant Law and Environmental Protection, which is responsible within the Magistrate Directorate for sustainable environmental projects, climate protection, and renaturation. This support not only achieves a more stable pollination performance but also sends a signal of appreciation for the important role of beekeepers in the ecosystem and promotes sustainable rural development.
