Description

The funding for visitor management and traffic control measures in Tyrol supports public institutions, interest groups, associations, and companies in sustainably designing recreational infrastructure in natural areas and expanding barrier-free access. Among others, the construction and improvement of parking and rest areas, play and adventure zones, pond and biotope facilities, as well as viewing platforms or towers including the necessary planting, are funded. The goal is to direct visitor flows in an ecologically compatible manner, create nature-oriented experiential worlds, and preserve the existing infrastructure in sensitive recreational areas in the long term. The funding rate ranges between 50% and 70% of the eligible net total costs depending on the measure and can be applied for indefinitely.

For an application, the submission of a complete project with planning documents according to the Landscape Service funding catalog is required. Additionally, a declaration of commitment, official permits, usage agreements, offers or cost breakdown models, as well as a detailed project description must be submitted. All measures must be publicly freely accessible and usable free of charge, planned economically, purposefully, and efficiently, and comply with the applicable guidelines. Approval is granted in writing after review by the responsible state authority, followed by on-site inspections by regional advisors. Applications can be submitted at any time without a deadline. This provides actors from the public interest the opportunity to actively contribute to climate-friendly, locally accessible recreational space design and to enhance the quality of experience in Tyrol.
