The Bürgschaftsbank Niedersachsen provides guarantees for investments by private equity firms in small and medium-sized enterprises in the commercial sector and horticulture, in order to strengthen their equity base and facilitate access to additional financing.

Description
The participation guarantees of the Bürgschaftsbank Niedersachsen support small and medium-sized enterprises in the commercial sector as well as in horticulture – including tree nurseries and landscaping businesses – in strengthening their equity base. When a private equity company participates in a project, Bürgschaftsbank Niedersachsen can, under defined conditions, guarantee up to 70 percent of the contribution and up to 70 percent of the contractually agreed remuneration claims for a maximum of one year’s remuneration. The guaranteed participation ranges between EUR 50,000 and EUR 2.5 million per participant. The term extends over 60 to 120 months. In this way, not only is the financial foundation strengthened, but access to additional financing is also facilitated to realize investments in cooperations, innovation projects, structural change, business expansions, or company acquisitions.
Eligible to apply are those companies that aim to create or secure a sustainable and competitive existence and have adequately insured their operations against usual risks. Excluded are participations that serve solely to consolidate financial conditions. Applications can be submitted at any time and are forwarded to Bürgschaftsbank Niedersachsen via the respective private equity company. This guarantee opens up a reliable perspective for regional companies to optimally leverage growth opportunities and remain operationally capable in the long term.
