Description
Within the framework of the "Contribution-Free Kindergarten" model, the City of Vienna supports the early care and education of Viennese children aged 0 to 6 years or until the start of compulsory schooling through a monthly care contribution. This subsidy serves to cover the parental contribution for up to 16 hours per week and is based on the municipal attendance fees. The funding is aimed at all family facilities or private individuals who operate officially approved private early education institutions in Vienna and have concluded a valid funding agreement with the City of Vienna. It ensures equal opportunities for participation through contribution-free group places and particularly supports children during the acclimatization phase or with increased support needs, taking into account the Vienna Education Plan.
A prerequisite for the subsidy is the main residence of the child and at least one parent or legal guardian in Vienna, as well as proof of at least 16 hours of weekly attendance. Only parental contributions for general educational and care services are funded. Funding applications can be submitted at any time, as continuous, indefinitely valid funding is provided. To submit an application, a fully completed application form, a funding agreement, proof of residence, the official operating permit of the institution, and a monthly performance report are required. With this transparent and needs-based funding, the City of Vienna contributes to better compatibility of family and work as well as to securing high-quality childcare facilities.
