Description
The Anstoß zum Leben Foundation supports educational institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia with the "Active School" program in seamlessly integrating sports and physical activity into everyday school life. The goal is to physically strengthen students, develop social skills, and promote a sense of community. By holding physical education classes in modern venues such as the TeamSportPark and offering innovative formats like workshops in self-defense, cricket, or dance as supplements, motor skills are expanded and new experiential spaces created. At the same time, sport serves as a unifying element that advances inclusion and integration of diverse school communities and strengthens democratic coexistence.
The sponsorship program is aimed at all school types and grade levels: teachers can request individual offers at any time and flexibly integrate them into the timetable. In addition to regular courses, interschool tournaments, movement festivals, and theme days are available to encourage lively exchange among participants. Funding is provided through donations and grants from the foundation, allowing schools to benefit from the diverse components at no cost. Through an open, needs-based application process, tailored movement formats are developed that sustainably anchor health, education, and social cohesion. Interested institutions can continuously make contact and collaborate with the foundation’s experts to design a sports program tailored to their needs.
