Description

The WIR Education Bonus supports seniors living in Carinthia in their post-retirement phase with a one-time subsidy for further education. Private individuals with verifiable pension receipt and primary residence in Carinthia receive a 100% subsidy of course costs up to a maximum of €100 per calendar year. Only further education completed at a Carinthian adult education institution with Ö-CERT and whose course costs have not already been subsidized by other public bodies are eligible for funding. Applications can be submitted online at any time during the current calendar year; there is no fixed deadline, allowing both spontaneous and planned educational measures to be supported flexibly.

The funding program aims to strengthen mental and physical health in retirement and to counteract old-age poverty. Additionally, participation in further education offerings is intended to enable new social contacts. The prerequisite for granting the subsidy is the submission of the following documents: confirmation of attendance at the further education course, original receipts of course costs (invoice and proof of payment), proof of pension receipt, and a current registration certificate. After positive verification of the complete information, the subsidy will be transferred exclusively to the specified bank account. Department 13 – Society and Integration at the Office of the Carinthian State Government is responsible for the implementation and coordination of this funding and ensures confidential handling of all data.
