Description
Since January 1, 2017, the state of Carinthia has been supporting public and private higher compulsory schools within the framework of the "Educational Initiatives" with direct grants. The funding can be used for both personnel and material expenses and covers areas such as pedagogical training, initial and further education, acquisition of modern teaching aids, or digital infrastructure. Through this form of subsidy, schools receive financial planning security to implement innovative projects such as workshops, school events, or equipment renewals. As the funding opportunity is continuously offered without a fixed application deadline, requests can be submitted flexibly and timed according to the individual project schedule. The funding objective is the sustainable strengthening of educational offerings and the promotion of quality developments in the compulsory school sector in Carinthia.
Eligible for funding are higher compulsory schools and private schools located in Carinthia and recognized as educational institutions. For a successful application, the submission of a written request is required, including a precise project description or subsidy declaration, a formal funding commitment, and a dedication statement. Additionally, original receipts must be submitted to verify the purpose-bound expenses. Applications are accepted continuously, as there are no fixed deadlines. The responsible authority for processing the funding and granting the subsidies is the Office of the Carinthian State Government, Department 6 – Education and Sport. The allocation is based on a discretionary decision within the framework of the applicable legal provisions. Interested educational institutions can obtain information about further procedural steps from the responsible office.
