Description
Within the framework of the Education Grant of the Chamber of Labour, the state of Vorarlberg supports labor market-relevant initial and continuing education to sustainably secure employability in current and future fields of activity. The support is aimed at private individuals with their main residence in Vorarlberg – including employees, entrepreneurs, apprentices, as well as persons returning to working life – and includes measures such as the education account, education premiums for employees and self-employed persons, start-up capital, housing allowance for apprentices, as well as flat-rate subsidies for vocational maturity or university entrance qualification examinations. Applications must be submitted in writing to the Chamber of Labour Vorarlberg using the prescribed form. Requirements include a main residence in Vorarlberg, a fully insured employment or apprenticeship relationship within the EEA, and a labor market-relevant training with at least 30 hours of attendance per week. Hobby courses of any kind as well as studies at universities, colleges, and universities of applied sciences are excluded.
Course and examination fees, tuition and internship remuneration, expenses for examination materials, as well as accommodation and travel costs are funded. The amount of the grant depends on the respective funding category and ranges from graduated monthly amounts to one-time lump sums of up to 2,100 euros for examination completions. Applications can be submitted at any time, with the application to be filed no later than three months after completion of the educational measure. In effect indefinitely since January 1, 2018, the program enables participants to overcome financial barriers and specifically expand their professional qualifications.
