Description
The Brandenburg Loan for Modernizing Residential Space supports municipal housing companies, housing cooperatives, as well as private investors in the housing sector in Brandenburg in the sustainable renovation of rented residential buildings. The aim of the funding is to refurbish rental housing in a future-oriented manner and subsequently offer it at market-appropriate, affordable conditions. As a loan with a repayment grant of up to five percent of the loan amount, the program enables long-term financing of modernization and ancillary construction costs as well as incurred financing costs. By combining it with other funding instruments, including additional Brandenburg loans, a tailored financing of sustainable housing projects can be realized.
Eligible applicants are public institutions and companies with modernization projects in the housing stock of Brandenburg; excluded are projects involving residential, elderly, and nursing homes as well as holiday and weekend homes, as well as refinancing or follow-up financing of already completed projects. The submission of the fully completed application form (BK-MOD) and required documents such as cost overview with quantity verification, draft plans, living space calculation according to WoFlV, statement from the lower monument protection authority, cadastral documents, and land register excerpt must be made at any time before the start of the project. After selecting an interest rate fixation period and a disturbance-free loan term, the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg credits the repayment grant after the expiry of the interest rate fixation, thereby sustainably reducing the residual debt and effectively contributing to the modernization of rental housing.
