Broadband Austria 2030: OpenNet Connection Funding Tyrol

The OpenNet Follow-up Funding Tyrol specifically supports the expansion of fiber optics in Tyrolean municipalities and complements the federal program “Broadband Austria 2030: OpenNet” with a one-time state subsidy. Public institutions such as Tyrolean municipalities, municipal cooperations, or municipal associations can apply for a grant of up to 10% of the eligible project costs, provided that federal funding according to the special guideline BBA2030:ON has already been approved. In exceptional cases, publicly owned companies in majority ownership by Tyrolean municipalities are also eligible, provided there is no representation in end-customer markets for electronic communication services. The funding contributes to the comprehensive availability of symmetrical gigabit access and thus strengthens the digital infrastructure in all parts of the state.

Applicants submit their application via the web form of the Department of Economic Location, Digitalization, and Science of the State of Tyrol and attach the federal funding documents. Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2026. The program is fully committed to transparency and efficiency: eligible expenses include all project costs according to the federal guideline, and any material or service subsidies optimally leverage synergies. With this follow-up funding, the State of Tyrol makes a decisive contribution to the implementation of the Broadband Strategy 2030 and paves the way for modern, high-performance networks in all Tyrolean municipalities.
