Funding objective
The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern grants funding from the Citizen Fund for the implementation of charitable projects that preserve and strengthen volunteer work, community, and cohesion in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Projects supported include those in child and youth welfare, family support, sports, health prevention, animal care, climate and environmental protection, as well as events to strengthen neighborhood cohesion.

Description
The Citizens' Fund to Support Volunteer Projects in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania promotes non-profit projects that strengthen social cohesion and invigorate volunteer engagement. Recipients of funding can be registered associations, public institutions, as well as, in individual cases, private persons with their registered office or residence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Projects are supported in the areas of child and youth welfare, family support, sports, health prevention, environmental/climate protection, animal welfare, and neighborhood events. Eligible expenses include acquisitions (furnishings, instruments), construction measures and planning services, as well as personnel costs. The funding amount is up to €50,000 per project (areas a–f) and up to €2,500 per event (area g).
Applications can be submitted until September 30, 2026. A prerequisite for approval is a valid entry in the register of associations or the corresponding legal form and proof that the project is carried out exclusively for the benefit of citizens in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Applications are to be submitted via a standardized form, to which the project description, expense calculation, personnel cost sheet, declaration of commitment to the free democratic basic order, and data protection certificate must be attached. The fixed-amount funding in the form of a non-repayable grant is determined on a project basis. With the Citizens' Fund, the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania supports diverse initiatives that strengthen local communities and implement sustainable concepts for a vibrant coexistence.
