The foundation provides prize money ranging from €1,000 to €5,000 for the award. The jury evaluates submissions based on effectiveness in emergencies, proximity to those affected, level of innovation, and their contribution to local cohesion. Eligible to participate are non-profit organizations based or primarily active in Münster that have not placed first in this award in the past five years.

Associations, initiatives, and non-profit organizations from Münster may submit their application documents exclusively via the online application form. This form collects relevant project information, explanations of voluntary engagement, as well as evidence of previous successes and financial conditions. The submission deadline is July 15, 2026. With this award, the Citizens for Münster Foundation sets a visible example of humanity, responsibility, and innovation in the social sector.
