Citizen Award / Honorary Award – Rheinfelden Community Foundation

Since 2007, the Rheinfelden Citizens' Foundation has honored outstanding civic engagement and exemplary initiatives in Baden-Württemberg with the Citizens' Award. Each year, individuals, groups, and non-profit organizations committed to the common good in Rheinfelden with remarkable dedication receive an award of €2,500. Additionally, since 2008, an honorary prize has been awarded to individuals who have made a special contribution to the municipal welfare. Both awards are permanently open for applications and emphasize the importance of commitment to social cohesion, democracy, as well as work and social affairs. The sculptures designed by glass artist Wilfried Markus symbolize appreciation and recognition for outstanding local achievements.

Eligible for funding are private individuals and non-profit organizations whose activities are rooted in Rheinfelden. Key evaluation criteria include outstanding civic engagement, exemplary project character, and sustainable commitment to the common good. The ongoing call for applications offers diverse opportunities to strengthen community spirit in the city and to inspire future engagement. Through the annual awarding, the foundation not only promotes the implementation of social and cultural projects but also encourages a vibrant community where democratic action and social responsibility are central.
