Description

The BürgerVersität initiative of the Th. Thomas Foundation for Natural History Collections nationwide supports independent citizen science and natural history projects through a one-time grant. Private individuals or small initiatives can submit applications on an ongoing basis to receive professional guidance or selected equipment. Thematically, the funding ranges from research & innovation to environmental and nature conservation, as well as environmental education, training & further education, and energy efficiency & climate protection. The funding objective is to support sustainably effective projects in biodiversity and natural history while enabling professional knowledge exchange between project leaders and experts.

To apply, a fully completed registration form is required, in which the natural history or environmental education project is described in detail. Eligible costs include, in particular, expenses for specific equipment and professional consulting by qualified experts. Evaluation is based on professional relevance, sustainability, as well as clear project structure and feasibility. Interested parties should observe the submission deadline stated in the registration form and submit all required documents continuously by post or email.
