The goal is the evidence-based improvement of subject teaching quality through the didactically meaningful integration of digital devices, applications, and methods, as well as their balanced use in conjunction with analog teaching formats. Projects that develop, evaluate, and transfer innovative subject-didactic concepts are supported over a period of up to 46 months. The program thus contributes to nationwide quality development in teacher education and builds on DigitalPakt 2.0.

Eligible for funding are research institutions, universities, companies, and non-profit organizations that initiate projects together with teacher education and professional development institutions. The two-stage application process begins with the electronic submission of a project outline via the easy online system. The deadline for submitting outlines is July 20, 2026, 12:00 PM, and the latest project start date is March 1, 2027. Applications require a concise project outline followed by a full proposal. Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Seniors, Women, and Youth, accompanied by the DLR Project Management Agency. The program is aimed at all stakeholders seeking to develop scientifically based solutions for digital teacher education and focuses on sustainable improvements in learning effectiveness in subject teaching.
