Description
The Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings – Individual Measures (BEG EM) is aimed nationwide at private individuals, companies, municipalities, as well as non-profit organizations that wish to reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions through targeted investments in existing buildings. Funding is provided for individual measures such as external thermal insulation composite systems, window and door replacements, as well as the replacement or optimization of heating systems and the installation of ventilation systems with heat recovery. A prerequisite is the implementation of the measure in accordance with the BEG EM guideline and – for certain projects – the involvement of a certified energy efficiency expert. Applications can be submitted online year-round via the BAFA portal. The selected grant supports investment costs and significantly contributes to upgrading existing residential and non-residential buildings to a modern energy standard.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) provides the funding through the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) to implement energy renovation projects efficiently and in a planned manner. In addition to the online application, documents such as quotes, invoices, or a confirmation by an energy efficiency expert must be submitted. The funding is suitable for owners as well as authorized users who wish to implement individual measures step by step without having to undertake comprehensive overall packages. Through government support, investment barriers are lowered and a tangible contribution to climate protection is made. A continuous application option ensures that projects can be started flexibly and according to demand.
