Description

The federal funding for climate-friendly new construction of residential buildings in the low-price segment supports builders and investors nationwide – especially housing companies, municipalities, and other sponsors – in creating affordable and at the same time energy-efficient living space. As a grant based on the Efficiency House 55 standard, the program is aimed at companies and public institutions that construct new residential buildings according to national building regulations. The goal is to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions while sustainably lowering housing costs in the low-price segment. Applications can be submitted continuously through the KfW banking group via the respective house bank.

A prerequisite for approval is proof of the Efficiency House 55 standard, compliance with the cost ceilings for the low-price segment, and approval as a residential building. Eligible are construction costs for the building itself and equipment to increase energy efficiency. However, land costs or retroactive construction expenses are not eligible. For the application, a complete house bank application, an energy demand certificate or calculation, a detailed construction description, as well as a cost and financing plan must be submitted. Evaluation is based on technical efficiency proofs and compliance with defined cost limits. The unlimited possibility of submission offers high planning flexibility to implement future-oriented and climate-friendly housing projects on schedule.
