Description

The federal program Akti(F) Plus – Active for Families and Their Children aims to sustainably improve the living conditions of families threatened by poverty and social exclusion. The program focuses on promoting the social and economic participation of families with increased support needs, particularly those receiving benefits under SGB II and SGB XII. A wide range of measures is supported – from comprehensive counseling and coaching services to activities that advance the expansion of local cooperation structures. An innovative approach fosters cross-legal-framework exchange, enabling project sponsors to create synergies with partners from education, employment, health, and other sectors.

Funding is provided as a grant, covering up to 90 percent of eligible expenses. Eligible applicants include public institutions, non-profit organizations, companies, and educational institutions operating within a cooperative or project consortium with regional stakeholders. To achieve the greatest possible impact, the targeted involvement of local authorities and labor market actors plays a central role. In addition to financial support, the program promotes long-term access to the labor market and strengthens structural collaboration in the areas of social affairs, health, employment, and education.

This initiative is complemented by the establishment of a networking office that supports regular exchange and the transfer of best-practice examples. The networking office consolidates various solution approaches and offers project sponsors platforms for regional and supra-regional network meetings, exchange formats, and digital events. The program places particular emphasis on needs- and target group-oriented communication, participatory involvement of all stakeholders, and the consideration of multiperspective viewpoints. Through this integrated approach, not only is the immediate support of families improved, but also the fundamental social cohesion is strengthened.
