Description

Care Leaver – Promotion of Individual Counseling Services in Tyrol
The initiative supports young adults who are accompanied following care in a socio-educational facility. The goal is to precisely promote the transition from full-time care to independent living until the completion of the 24th year of life. As a continuous grant measure, public institutions and non-profit organizations in Tyrol are available as recipients of funding. Only individual counseling services that address the specific needs of the participants are funded – for example, in the areas of life planning, job search, or personal stabilization. The scope for action allows flexible adaptation to the respective life situation, thereby promoting the self-determination of young adults.

Eligibility Requirements and Funding Modalities
Eligible are those who are not older than 24 years on the application date and who were previously cared for in a socio-educational facility. A demonstrable need for support in the step towards independence is required. Applications can be submitted continuously; there is no binding period. The use of funds is limited to the payment of counseling costs, with each measure being reviewed based on the legal framework of the Tyrolean Child and Youth Welfare Act (TKJHG). By combining professional expertise with tailored services, the program makes a significant contribution to the sustainable integration of young adults into society and the labor market.
