Description
The pop-up initiative "Chance Bad Iburg" promotes the revitalization of city centers in Lower Saxony and enables risk-free testing of innovative business concepts. Funding is provided to companies, self-employed individuals, and start-ups from retail, services, crafts, as well as art and culture (excluding gastronomic offerings). Vacant retail spaces in central downtown locations are available for three to six months and can be used at a heavily discounted rent of €2/m² per month plus utilities. Applications are accepted at any time and are evaluated based on innovation potential, creativity of the business idea, economic feasibility, contribution to downtown revitalization, and customer orientation. Successful pop-up projects open up the prospect of permanent rental agreements with the respective property owners, thereby creating attractive long-term offerings for visitors and residents alike.
Interested parties submit a written expression of interest containing information about the organization or individual, a description of the business idea, previous locations (if any), planned opening hours and duration of use, as well as a profile of the targeted customer group. Selected pop-up users commit to opening at least four weekdays, including Saturdays, and on shopping Sundays (Bad Iburg: first Sunday of the month) to ensure high customer traffic. Only rental costs are funded; all other expenses are the responsibility of the project managers. Through this program, the city of Bad Iburg strengthens the local economy, opens space for creative impulses, and shapes the city center as a vibrant meeting place.
