Clinician Scientist Program

The Clinician Scientist Program of the German Foundation for Dermatology supports nationwide physician-scientist qualification positions in dermatology. The aim of the project-based grants is to strengthen the academic junior staff and thus advance the research and treatment of skin diseases such as skin cancer, allergies, or chronic inflammations. By combining clinical responsibility with scientific work, innovative therapeutic concepts are developed and the latest research findings are directly transferred into patient care. The continuously announced funding opportunities offer dermatologists tailored support to implement their own study projects and establish a long-term presence in academic dermatology.

Eligible to apply are licensed physicians or dermatology specialists in training affiliated with a university or research institution. The financial support is provided as a grant for the duration of the scientific qualification position and enables realistic planning and execution of demanding projects.
