Description
The Maria Hilf Warstein Foundation covers the training costs for Corhelper first responder courses free of charge in North Rhine-Westphalia, thereby specifically strengthening disaster protection as well as engagement for social cohesion. Volunteers from the municipalities of Anröchte, Erwitte, Geseke, Rüthen, and Warstein are trained as Mobile First Responders by qualified providers such as the German Red Cross, the Maltesers, AIS Bildung eGbR, and “First Aid and More,” and are integrated into the Corhelper app of the emergency dispatch center. This enables immediate assistance in emergencies—especially in cases of cardiac arrest—until the emergency services arrive. The funding is provided as a 100% sponsorship measure, covering the full course fees and enabling barrier-free participation without any personal costs. Ongoing funding opportunities ensure that new first responders can be regularly recruited and integrated into the app platform.
The program supports committed citizens, medical students during block internships or clinical traineeships, as well as other interested individuals who wish to save lives in their home region. A prerequisite is residency or professional connection to the named municipalities, as well as an interest in voluntary service as a Mobile First Responder. Registrations are possible at any time for the announced dates, which are published on the websites of the respective course providers. Through this initiative, the Maria Hilf Warstein Foundation makes a decisive contribution to strengthening public health, training qualified volunteers, and providing rapid medical first aid in life-threatening situations. Interested parties receive comprehensive information and support for registration directly through the foundation or the cooperating training organizations.
