Description
The Carl Zeiss Foundation, through the CZS Continuing Education program, offers scientists at all career stages exclusive opportunities for professional and methodological qualification nationwide. In close cooperation with renowned national and international partners, both in-person events and online webinars are offered, specifically imparting skills in science communication, scientific publishing, and other relevant specialized fields. Thanks to a subsidy fully covered by the Foundation, participation places are available free of charge or at a significantly reduced rate for funded individuals and registered alumni. Ongoing calls for applications allow flexible submissions, enabling timely responses to individual continuing education needs.
Eligible for funding are project leaders and professors involved in a CZS-funded project, doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, as well as junior research group leaders with ongoing funding, CZS Foundation professors, and former beneficiaries registered in the alumni portal. All applications undergo formal and substantive review; in the event of oversubscription, a lottery determines participation places. With a funding rate of 100%, selected contributions for the organization and execution of the workshops are covered. The program targets individuals and offers an attractive complement to traditional scientific funding formats, providing researchers with sustainable impulses for their career development beyond the project duration.
