Description
The Performing Arts, Project and Annual Funding of the State of Carinthia supports professionally active individual artists, independent groups, associations, and small cultural institutions that realize theater, dance, performance, as well as new, contemporary, and interdisciplinary forms in Carinthia. Both annual and seasonal programs as well as individual projects such as festivals, children’s and youth theater, mediation projects, and cultural exchange are taken into account. Applications can be submitted online at any time, provided there is a clearly demonstrated connection to Carinthia, a fully completed and digitally signed application form, and timely submission before the project start. Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material and travel expenses, as well as advertising and PR; construction measures, real estate acquisitions, and VAT-deductible expenses are excluded. The content evaluation is based on the degree of innovation, relevance to the respective audience, and regional connection. For project volumes of €30,000 and above, a detailed proof of use including a complete income and expenditure statement is mandatory.
The aim is to nurture and further develop the regional cultural landscape by strengthening diverse forms of expression in the performing arts. Department 14 – Arts and Culture of the Office of the Carinthian State Government provides professional advice and thereby promotes innovative self-productions and mediation activities. The funds are granted as a subsidy within the framework of the Carinthian Cultural Funding Act, which sets high standards for quality, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. The funding is intended to generate new artistic impulses and reach audiences across all social groups. Sustainable impact is ensured and documented through a final financial and activity report as well as the mandatory use of the “Land Kärnten Kultur” logo. Further details and application templates are available online.
