Description
In the Free State of Saxony, a special grant program promotes the sustainable adaptation of rural regions and municipalities to demographic change. With subsidies of up to 90% of eligible expenses, concepts to address population decline and an aging population are supported. Funding is provided, among other things, for the development and adjustment of regional strategies, innovation competitions and pilot projects, civic engagement, as well as networking and information exchange. Research, moderation and coaching measures or the development of intergenerational usage and organizational forms in the public sector can also be financed. Through this variety of measures, municipalities and regions are to be enabled to proactively and positively shape demographic change.
Eligible to apply are municipal authorities including their own enterprises, municipal and regional special-purpose and administrative associations, public law corporations and religious communities, as well as non-profit associations, federations, and limited liability companies. A prerequisite for funding is the implementation of the project in the Free State of Saxony (excluding the metropolitan areas of Leipzig and Dresden) and a personal contribution of at least 10% of the eligible expenses. The application procedure requires submission in duplicate before the start of the measure by September 30 of each year and offers planning security for all parties involved.
