German-Polish Film Fund (MDM)

The German-Polish Film Fund of the Central German Media Support (MDM) assists companies from Germany and Poland in developing and – within the scope of small budgets – producing cross-border film projects. With an annual fund volume of around 500,000 euros, the fund primarily supports the development and production costs of German-Polish co-productions. The aim is to intensify collaboration between German and Polish producers and to provide creative impulses for the European film market. Designed as a grant, the funding is aimed at production companies of all sizes that can already provide initial evidence of film project development or production.

For a successful application, a completed application form (development or production), a concise project description, and a detailed financing plan are required. Funding decisions are based on the content quality of the project, the degree of German-Polish cooperation, and realistic market prospects. Companies benefit from the opportunity to implement their creative visions across national borders and to establish new networks. Submissions are accepted on an ongoing basis; the next call for proposals will be announced shortly.
