Description
The Foundation of the German Television Lottery supports non-profit organizations throughout Germany in the implementation of social projects focusing on youth and elderly care, public health, welfare services, civic engagement, integration of refugees, and inclusion. Projects that sustainably improve the lives of disadvantaged people and address a clearly documented need are funded. Eligible applicants include registered associations, foundations, non-profit limited liability companies (gGmbHs), and comparable social enterprises with a current tax exemption certificate and a statute purpose that corresponds in content. Funding is provided through project-related grants for personnel, fees, and material costs (duration up to 36 months) as well as investment funds for construction measures and initial equipment (duration up to 60 months). For project funding, up to 100% of costs are covered; for investment measures, up to 33% (construction measures) or 50% (initial equipment), with a maximum of €300,000 per project. A mandatory co-financing share of 10–20% must be demonstrated.
Applications can be submitted online via the funding portal during the May/June and November/December deadlines; the next call closes on 18.12.2025, with project starts possible from 01.06.2026. Required documents for completeness include the tax exemption certificate, register excerpt, and statutes, as well as a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, and a statement from the responsible municipality. Key evaluation criteria are the demonstrated need of the target group, the quality of the concept and impact, the equity ratio, and conformity with the statutes. Funded organizations also benefit from advisory support from the concept phase through to the proof of use, ensuring the impact and sustainability of the funded measures.
