Description
The German Cultural Promotion Award honors outstanding cultural commitment by companies and company-related foundations in Germany. Since 2006, the Culture Foundation of the German Economy has been presenting this prestigious award in cooperation with Handelsblatt and ZDF. Projects from the fields of culture and media that have been realized within the last 24 months and impress through innovative, sustainable, or socially particularly effective concepts are supported. Participating companies of all sizes and industries, as well as company-related foundations, have the opportunity to submit their cultural initiatives, thereby emphasizing the importance of art and culture as an indispensable resource for society and the economy. The jury particularly evaluates the extent to which the submitted projects create sustainable cultural added value and promote social participation.
With the award, a clear signal is sent regarding the relevance of corporate responsibility in the cultural sector. The recipients not only receive public recognition but also benefit from a strong network of committed cultural sponsors and media partners. The recognition also serves as an impetus to generate new momentum for collaboration between business and the arts. The program is aimed at all actors who have distinguished themselves through exceptional commitment in the cultural sector over the past two years and offers them a platform to present their visions to a broad public. The awardees are announced at a ceremonial award event, regularly held in Berlin, which highlights the connection between business, politics, and culture.
