Germany Scholarship (Haspa Hamburg Foundation)

The Haspa Hamburg Foundation, together with other sponsors, supports the Deutschlandstipendium at the University of Hamburg and honors particularly talented and committed students who have overcome extraordinary obstacles on their educational path. Over a period of twelve months, the scholarship recipients receive €300 per month – an amount derived from private sponsorship and public funds that directly contributes to their living and study conditions. The funding is dedicated to nurturing young talent in Hamburg and strengthens the segment of science committed to democracy, peace, and a healthy ecosystem.

Selection criteria include, in addition to outstanding academic achievements, especially social engagement and the proven overcoming of individual educational barriers. The jury considers application documents, letters of recommendation, and personal backgrounds to form a diverse network of scholarship recipients. The program not only improves the personal future prospects of the beneficiaries but also preserves and strengthens cohesion within civil society. At the ceremonial award event under the motto “All Hands on Deck – Taking Responsibility for the Future Together,” sponsors and recipients come together to exchange perspectives and further advance commitment to a more resilient, democratic society.
