Description
In Baden-Württemberg, the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration, together with the Municipal Association for Youth and Social Affairs, provides investment funding to realize decentralized, needs-based, and inclusive housing, care, and workshop services for people with disabilities. The aim of this state initiative is to create local infrastructure by utilizing funds from the compensation levy revenue for barrier-reduced modernization, conversion, as well as new construction of smaller residential groups with up to 24 places and for the expansion of innovative day care or workshop structures. Through grants for acquisition, expansion, replacement construction, and modernization, high-quality, community-integrated solutions are promoted that offer participants optimal participation opportunities tailored to their needs.
Eligible to apply are providers of independent welfare services, churches and religious communities under public law, other non-profit organizations, public law corporations, as well as municipal authorities, who contribute their own funds of 10 percent or, in the case of modernization and replacement construction, 15 percent. A prerequisite is proof of necessity, the approval of the respective local committee, as well as a purpose-binding period of 25 years for construction measures (10 years for rental properties). Eligible expenses include acquisition, conversion, modernization, expansion, creation, and in exceptional cases, replacement construction. Applications for grants can be submitted at any time to Department 21 of the Municipal Association for Youth and Social Affairs, but always prior to the start of the measure.
