Description

The Bavarian Social Media Award for Volunteering "Digitally Connected" honors non-profit associations, initiatives, and volunteer agencies in Bavaria that showcase voluntary engagement in a highly effective public manner through innovative and strategically designed social media formats. In the categories Newcomer, Engagementfluencer, and Young Impact, account formats are recognized that activate new target groups through creative campaigns, inspiring storytelling, and authentic communication. An additional special prize honors volunteer agencies that strengthen the link between interested parties and engagement opportunities via social media. The awards are endowed with 2,000 euros each, with the special prize endowed with 1,500 euros. The focus of the event, which will be held in Munich in October 2026, is on digitalization as well as social cohesion and democracy.

Eligible to participate are non-profit organizations and public institutions based in Bavaria that maintain a public social media presence on established platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube. The evaluation criteria include creativity of the presence, engagement and reach, as well as the underlying strategy and storytelling. Applications can only be submitted via the online application form by June 14, 2026. Experts from the Versicherungskammer Foundation, lagfa Bayern, and the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs form the jury and select the winners. The award offers a valuable opportunity to make voluntary work digitally visible, gain valuable impulses for public relations, and establish new networks.
