Description
Digital Premium Berlin supports solo self-employed individuals, freelancers, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with non-repayable grants of up to 50% of eligible expenses. The aim of the funding program is to accelerate the digital transformation of operational processes and to sustainably improve IT security. Funding is provided, for example, for the initial acquisition of advanced IT hardware and software for digital work, production, and management processes, investments in operational IT security infrastructure (e.g., penetration tests, ISMS, certifications), as well as digitization-related consulting and qualification measures. The maximum funding volume is €17,000 per project; currently, applications are no longer possible as the program is fully funded.
Eligible for funding are companies and organizations with a main or operational business location subject to trade tax in Berlin, as well as full-time solo self-employed individuals who commenced their activity by 31.12.2021 and generate a minimum income of €27,000. Non-profit UG and GmbH with a maximum of 249 employees are also eligible to apply. A minimum investment volume of €2,000 and compliance with the de minimis aid thresholds are prerequisites for the grant. The project duration is six months from the notification, and the measures submitted for funding must be implemented in Berlin. For all offers, the requirements for certification or accreditation of the service providers used (e.g., ISO 27001, AZAV, go-digital) must be observed. With this funding, the state contributes to strengthening the competitiveness and future viability of Berlin as a business location.
