Description

In the state of Salzburg, the state government supports the conversion of privately used residential buildings to renewable energy sources with the Direct Grant for Heating, Hot Water, and Electricity from Renewable Energy. Applications can be submitted at any time. Funding is provided for the installation and expansion of biomass heating systems such as pellet, wood chip, and log wood boilers, connection to biomass local and district heating systems, as well as the installation of thermal solar systems, photovoltaic systems, and modern heat pump systems. Additionally, efficiency measures such as pump replacement or pipe insulation can be supported within the framework of a Heating Check. The non-repayable grant is based on the detailed requirements of each individual measure and is calculated individually. It contributes to the implementation of the Salzburg Climate and Energy Strategy 2050 and aims to reduce fossil fuel consumption as well as sustainably increase energy efficiency.

Eligible applicants are owners and residents of private residential houses in Salzburg. A prerequisite for approval is the submission of the application prior to the installation of the system as well as proof of full compliance with all funding guidelines. Installation may only begin after receiving the provisional funding approval. Eligible expenses include, among others, the new installation of pellet, wood chip, or log wood central heating systems, the expansion of biomass district heating connections, the installation of thermal solar and photovoltaic systems as well as heat pump systems, and measures from the Heating Check. The application must include a fully completed funding application, planning documents from an authorized company, the heating inspection report, if applicable an energy certificate and disposal proof, as well as all official approval notices. The funding program has been valid indefinitely since 17.04.2013.
