Funding requirements

Description
The Bavarian funding program Village Renewal Guidelines (DorfR) supports measures in rurally structured municipalities of Bavaria with up to 50% of eligible expenses as a grant. The goal is a sustainable improvement of living, housing, working, and environmental conditions, the strengthening of regional value creation, as well as addressing demographic and climatic challenges. Eligible costs include preparation, planning, and consulting expenses; communal and public facilities such as village and open spaces or local heating networks; as well as private modernizations and new constructions within the old village area. The acquisition and utilization of buildings, land consolidation, moderation, and public relations also count as eligible expenses. The program is not accessible for individual measures under 1,000 euros, overall projects under 25,000 euros, or investments by micro-enterprises under 10,000 euros.
Applications may be submitted by participant communities, natural and legal persons, micro-enterprises providing basic services, municipalities, and associations in locations with up to 2,000 inhabitants after inclusion in the Bavarian Village Development Program. Often, a procedure under the Land Consolidation Act or an alternative procedural determination is required. The application must be submitted to the responsible Office for Rural Development before the start of the measure. Required documents include a project description, cost breakdown/quotes, proof of use, planning documents (e.g., building application), De-minimis declaration, statement on procedural exemption, and building permit. Municipalities with particular financial hardship, negative demographic trends, inter-municipal cooperation, or energy-saving projects may receive higher funding rates. Through close cooperation of citizens, experts, and administration, the vibrant development of the village is secured in the long term.
