Description
Funding Initiative for Young Jazz and Classical Music Creators in Hamburg
The Dr. E. A. Langner Foundation targets young culture-interested individuals, non-profit associations, initiatives, as well as educational institutions in the field of jazz and classical music. The aim is to support creative projects from the idea stage through to implementation and to enable sustainable development through individual case, project, and structural funding. The foundation places great value on a lasting impact approach: funded concepts are supported as long as other sponsors have not yet taken over responsibility and new initiatives expand the scope of funding. This creates a broad network of innovative musicians and organizations in Hamburg.
Funding Modalities and Application
Applications can be submitted continuously; there is no fixed deadline. Eligible costs include reimbursable personnel expenses as well as material costs directly related to projects in the field of jazz or classical music. A location in Hamburg and a project that pursues the foundation’s purpose are prerequisites. For application submission, a concise project description and, if necessary, additional project-related documents are required. An informal application is sufficient to initially assess funding possibilities; this is followed by an individual case evaluation. The foundation provides start-up funding as well as follow-up funding, thereby supporting young talents and cultural initiatives in the development and consolidation of their musical projects.
