Description

The three-year funding program for Children’s and Youth Theater of the City of Munich supports professional dance and theater artists from the independent scene who develop innovative projects for a young audience in Munich. The Department of Culture provides a reliable financial foundation over a period of 36 months to enable structural and artistic development. The goal is to grant applicants planning security and to promote production-independent measures that strengthen the creative profile and have a lasting impact. The allocation is made by the City Council upon recommendation of an independent jury and is aimed at individuals as well as ensembles based or working in Munich.

Funding is provided for, among other things, further training, study trips, and artistic coaching, as well as networking formats or project-related office work – for example, the creation of distribution lists and professional communication materials (website, photos, films). The rental of rehearsal spaces and investments in technology are also eligible expenses. The three-year term offers recipients the space to expand strategic networks, test new formats, and sustainably consolidate their position in the field of children’s and youth theater. With annual grants, the funding not only enables substantive but also institutional development and contributes to ensuring that Munich’s emerging youth productions can be realized at a high professional level.
