Description

The publication subsidy supports researchers with a content-related, personal, or institutional connection to the federal state of Salzburg in publishing their own research results. Funding is provided for monographic works, edited volumes, and scholarly journal articles authored by professors, assistants, scientific officers, lecturers, or, in exceptional cases, students (particularly for dissertations sub auspiciis or with Salzburg-specific thematic focus). The aim of the subsidy is to strengthen research and innovation in Salzburg by partially covering the printing costs of scientific publications and thereby sustainably disseminating specialized knowledge within the academic and professional public spheres.

The funding is granted as a direct, non-repayable subsidy of up to €3,000 (maximum €1,500 for dissertations). Applications can be submitted indefinitely to the State of Salzburg, Department 1: Economy, Tourism and Municipalities, Division for Economic, Scientific, and Research Funding. Required documents include the general funding application, a project description with a cost and financing plan, the table of contents of the publication, a publisher’s cost estimate, and, for non-habilitated applicants, a letter of endorsement from the head of the institute or department. Partial payments may be disbursed in advance upon approval. Copies for the official library as well as settled printing invoices serve as documentation for accounting. The funding is based on the General Guidelines of the State of Salzburg for subsidies and is documented under reference number 1010453 in the Transparency Portal.
