Description
The funding program "Implementation of the State Municipal Transport Financing Act" supports investments in municipal transport infrastructure in Baden-Württemberg with the aim of promoting sustainable and climate-friendly mobility. Funding is provided for construction, expansion, and conversion projects in municipal road construction, noise protection measures, the new construction and expansion of transport routes in public local passenger transport, as well as the new construction, expansion, and conversion of bicycle and pedestrian paths. Eligible applicants include municipalities, districts, and municipal associations as construction authorities, as well as public companies, municipal enterprises, and private companies. The grant is provided as a subsidy with a funding rate between 50% and 75% of eligible costs plus a flat-rate planning cost subsidy of 10%.
A prerequisite for funding is the inclusion of the project in a state funding program as well as a demonstrably urgent need to improve traffic, noise, or air quality conditions. The measure must be provided for in a general transport plan, noise action plan, or air quality control plan and must be planned economically and resource-consciously. Consideration of accessibility and the protection of natural resources are mandatory, and a project may only commence after notification of the funding approval. Retroactive costs are not eligible for funding. Applications must be submitted by specified deadlines to the responsible regional council, which is responsible for the administration and approval of funds.
